Dokker De'Ath invites you to bare your breast as he tells you

TRUST ME, I'M A DOKKER

THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF medicine has a hard pill to swallow. Failure. Although medical knowledge and techniques move constantly forward, it becomes increasingly obvious that allopathic medicine will never achieve its goal of conquering illness. But, then, how could it? The body is an infinitely complex and subtle machine under assault from an infinitely dynamic and flexible enemy. The illness-specific approach of allopathic medicine must, inevitably, fail in its inability to look beyond the illness at the body as a whole and at the life surrounding it.
As society has become disillusioned with the ability of allopathic medicine to save us from the ravages of disease and constantly mutating viruses, to come up with anything resembling perfect health, we have increasingly turned to alternative medical systems. And there are so many. From smells to spells, from stones to bones, from flowers to showers (golden), from herbs to turds and here we are back at ‘smells’ again. Animal, vegetable, mineral and any bizarre combination between can be applied in the pursuit of health. And they’re just the ‘externals’. When you come to the therapies, physical and mental, the disciplines and treatments, the practices and techniques . . . . Wow! But Coffeehouse Culture will clarify this
complex and confusing world.
As we get cellular and ride the DNA spiral to the very heart of life itself, we will be opening up the world of alternative medicine as never before. Adding a dynamic new dimension to the term ‘holistic’, our alternative health columns will not only bring body and mind together in a beautiful synergy but will also seek to establish good health in the broader aspects of life.
To have ‘healthy’ lives -- healthy bodies and minds are great but if your karma’s shit, they are only a partial consolation -- is something we all want. But that demands skill in action, successful relationships, good social interactions and an understanding of the mysterious forces that weave the patterns in each of our lives. All these subjects and more will come within the ambit of Coffeehouse Culture’s health columns.
So trust us. Please. We might not have the medical training but we are dokkers. Honest.
