SCALING MOUNTAINS, FORDING icy rivers, swinging from the thongs of his native bearers over bottomless chasms, Mr Bliss is the Indiana Jones of Consciousness. From the African High Atlas to cloudy Andean peaks, in dark Himalayan caves and in Aboriginal dreamtime on Ayres Rock, Mr Bliss has confronted his Dharma as an intrepid explorer of the deepest caverns of the soul. In seeking the knowledge of the Masters, of the seers, shamen, sages and saints who are the protectors of the ancient techniques of evolution, Mr Bliss has emerged as one of the unsung heroes of consciousness.
A man of mystery, what is most mysterious about Mr Bliss is that he has agreed to edit the Inner Light pages. But who on earth could be better qualified? A lifetime world-traveller prepared to endure the harshest conditions in order to study with the greatest magical and mystical masters, a member of many Holy orders and initiate into the most secret techniques and disciplines, possessing a unique treasure house of knowledge of the great spiritual traditions, Mr Bliss has danced to the Pan Pipes of the Joujouka, experienced the revelations of the Emerald Forest, heard the sound of one hand clapping, lain on his back on the banks of the Ganges and watched the Milky Way curdle and, for all we know, been on board the Mothership. He would, indeed, seem to be the ideal editor for the Inner Light Section .
With his soul now happily settled in the Vajraya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and his body a resident of New Mexico (and, yes, he did know Carlos Castenada), Mr Bliss is poised to begin the next stage of his journey towards Enlightenment. As he guides us through the forests, jungles and, sometimes, deserts of the infinite inner world we all share he will be exploring and explaining the teachings he has received from the Great Masters. In sharing this vast fund of sacred knowledge, Mr Bliss will be joining the Great Tradition of Spiritual Teachers who have, throughout history, sought to bring light to those in darkness. With Mr Bliss as our Guru we will walk the paths of righteousness until we are, at last, treading in the Footsteps of the Gods.
